KangaNews Fixed-Income Research Poll 2022: results announced

KangaNews is pleased to reveal the results of its 12th annual Fixed-Income Research Poll, a survey that asks institutional investors in the Australian fixed-income market to rank the research they receive across a range of sectors.

National Australia Bank (NAB) once again comes out on top in the overall category – the third year in a row. It also wins back first place for macroeconomic research – having had a five-year winning streak in the category broken by Westpac in 2021 – while retaining best research on foreign exchange, trade ideas and relative value, and global markets.

Commonwealth Bank of Australia continues its dominance in the rates category and improves by one place upon last year’s third place in the categories on corporates and financial institutions, regional markets, and sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) research. It also jumps to second, from fourth last year, on best macroeconomic research.

ANZ wins best research on sustainability and ESG, maintains its top spot for regional research and markedly improves its position for best global research – finishing second in 2022 having been outside the top five in 2021. It also improves its placings in research on corporates and financial institutions and trade ideas and relative value.

Westpac wins best research and analysis on Australian corporates and financial institutions from NAB and retains best research on structured finance for the fifth straight year.
